In the Alpujarra municipality of Albondón, in the heart of the Sierra de la Contraviesa Granada, is the Cortijo Los Martos, the mother estate of the winery that bears the same name.

The journey of the Los Martos Winery began in 2008 at the hands of its founder, Francisco Manzano Santiago. Passionate about the world of wine, this winemaker began to plant some vineyards in order to sell the broth he obtained in the traditional way. However, the extraordinary yield of his vines led him to bottle the wine, changing the image of his winery and making this area of the Alpujarra known through the juice of the land.

Located about 1,000 meters above sea level, Francisco Manzano's vineyards enjoy the inland Mediterranean climate typical of the area, with cold winters and hot, dry summers, tempered by the sea breezes that cool the bushes at night in the summer. These marked characteristics give Alpujarreño wine a peculiar and unique quality and flavor thanks to the slow aromatic and polyphenolic ripening of the grape.
